Norsiyah Mokak is a proud Djugun woman and a respected member of the Yawuru people. Born in Darwin and now calling Mildura, Victoria home for the past 25 years, Norsiyah has dedicated her life to consulting in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, training, coaching, employment, justice, and community development. Her work reflects a deep commitment to the core values of First People’s Training Institute (FPTI), where she has served as Managing Director since 2014.
With a career spanning over two decades, Norsiyah’s consultancy services are diverse and impactful, encompassing relationship building, community engagement, consulting, coaching, and mentoring. Her passion lies in fostering meaningful connections between First Nations and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous communities, ensuring that every project she undertakes is tailored to the unique needs of individuals and organisations.
Norsiyah believes that success is rooted in genuine relationships, mutual respect, and a shared vision. She treats everyone with dignity and respect, advocating for equality and understanding. This philosophy has guided her work and earned her a reputation as a trusted facilitator and leader.
In addition to her role at FPTI, Norsiyah served as the Aboriginal Community Development Broker from 2017 to 2019, creating spaces and opportunities for community members to connect and collaborate. Her leadership extended to her tenure as Manager of the Dulka Yupatta Cultural Centre, among other significant roles, where she championed cultural preservation and community engagement.
Norsiyah’s contributions to her community and beyond are numerous and profound. Her determination to drive change and her unwavering dedication to her work have made her a beacon of inspiration and a catalyst for progress.
